DfE's 2024/25 Mathematics value-added scores, with intervals and matched entries, for Enfield's institutions.
Book a Free ConsultationLeading Tuition's A-level maths tutors for Enfield are expert one-to-one online teachers, and DfE's 2024/25 Mathematics value-added table gives a published score to 14 Enfield institutions, five of them with a 95% interval clear of zero, three above and two below.
Enfield here means the London borough, DfE's local authority 308. DfE's table returns 20 Enfield institution rows for A-level Mathematics in 2024/25, and 6 of them are marked c in every column, so the page reads the other 14 and names the six.
Our expert A-level maths tutors help sixth-formers across Enfield with pure mathematics, mechanics and statistics, building each one-to-one online programme around the student's own sixth form, exam board and latest mock paper.
Book a Free Consultation Message us on WhatsAppDfE publishes one value-added score for A-level Mathematics at each institution, together with a lower and an upper 95% bound and a count of matched entries. The dataset is titled "Schools and colleges - qualification and subject value added", version 1.0.1, published on 23 April 2026. It sits inside DfE's 2024/25 16 to 19 release, which DfE states is based on revised data after a checking exercise, so it is not provisional.
The 14 scored Enfield rows together carry 505 matched entries. Their scores run from 1.35 at Enfield Grammar School, on 10 entries, down to -1.17 at Bishop Stopford's School, on 6. That spread describes the table, and it is not a finding about either school on its own: the only statements the numbers support are the ones where a school's own interval sits entirely above or entirely below zero.
Five rows meet that test. Nine rows do not, because their interval takes in zero. Seven of the 14 scored rows rest on fewer than 20 matched entries, and the range across all 14 is from 6 entries to 169. These are DfE's matched entries for the Mathematics A-level, which is a different count from the number of students who sat the subject, so no figure below should be read as a class size.
Three institutions have both bounds above zero and two have both bounds below it. The table gives every figure DfE publishes for them, with the matched entries beside each score.
| Enfield institution | Mathematics score, 2024/25 | 95% interval | Matched entries | Interval against zero |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Enfield Grammar School | 1.35 | 0.59 to 2.12 | 10 | Above zero |
| Ark John Keats Academy | 0.84 | 0.04 to 1.64 | 9 | Above zero |
| Highlands School | 0.34 | 0.01 to 0.68 | 52 | Above zero |
| Heron Hall Academy | -0.68 | -1.26 to -0.09 | 17 | Below zero |
| Bishop Stopford's School | -1.17 | -2.15 to -0.18 | 6 | Below zero |
Enfield Grammar School's score is 1.35 on 10 matched entries, with an interval from 0.59 to 2.12. Both bounds are above zero, so DfE's own interval separates this score from zero. The interval is also 1.53 wide, which is what a cohort of 10 produces, and it is the reason the page does not read 1.35 as a precise figure.
Ark John Keats Academy's 0.84 rests on 9 entries and its interval runs from 0.04 to 1.64. The lower bound is only just above zero, so the statement DfE's table supports is narrow: the score is distinguishable from zero, and the true value could lie anywhere in that range.
Highlands School's 0.34 is on 52 entries, a larger cohort, and its interval from 0.01 to 0.68 is correspondingly tighter. The lower bound is 0.01, so this is again a score that clears zero by a small margin.
Heron Hall Academy's -0.68 is on 17 entries with an interval from -1.26 to -0.09, and Bishop Stopford's School's -1.17 is on 6 entries with an interval from -2.15 to -0.18. Both upper bounds are below zero. Bishop Stopford's rests on the smallest count in the whole Enfield table, 6, so one student's result carries more weight in its score than any single result does at an institution with 169 entries. That is a statement about how cohort size works, and it says nothing about teaching at either school.
Because the five rows are separate tests against zero, two of them cannot be set against each other. A score of 1.35 beside a score of 0.84 is not a finding that one institution does better than the other, since their intervals overlap between 0.59 and 1.64.
For these nine institutions the intervals take in zero, so DfE's table does not separate their score from zero in either direction. The matched entries run from 11 to 169.
| Enfield institution | Mathematics score, 2024/25 | 95% interval | Matched entries |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Latymer School | 0.09 | -0.1 to 0.27 | 169 |
| Winchmore School | 0.21 | -0.16 to 0.57 | 44 |
| Oasis Academy Hadley | -0.07 | -0.74 to 0.6 | 13 |
| Edmonton County School | -0.05 | -0.5 to 0.41 | 28 |
| St Ignatius College | -0.05 | -0.39 to 0.29 | 50 |
| Kingsmead School | -0.22 | -0.59 to 0.15 | 42 |
| Chace Community School | -0.24 | -0.96 to 0.49 | 11 |
| Southgate School | -0.25 | -0.65 to 0.16 | 35 |
| Lift Aylward | -0.53 | -1.08 to 0.02 | 19 |
The Latymer School has the largest count in Enfield's table, 169 matched entries, and the narrowest interval, from -0.1 to 0.27. A cohort that size pins a score down, and the table's reading is a score of 0.09 whose interval includes zero. Winchmore School's 0.21 on 44 entries and St Ignatius College's -0.05 on 50 are in the same position.
Lift Aylward's interval runs from -1.08 to 0.02, so its upper bound sits just above zero on 19 entries. The table does not separate its score of -0.53 from zero. Chace Community School's -0.24 and Oasis Academy Hadley's -0.07 rest on 11 and 13 entries, and their intervals are wide, running from -0.96 to 0.49 and from -0.74 to 0.6.
The same caution applies in both directions. Edmonton County School's -0.05 on 28 entries, Kingsmead School's -0.22 on 42 and Southgate School's -0.25 on 35 are scores that fall inside their intervals, and they say the table cannot tell these institutions from zero. They are not evidence that a student there will do better or worse than elsewhere in Enfield.
DfE's table lists six further Enfield rows for A-level Mathematics in 2024/25 and marks the score, both interval bounds and the entries count c for each: Enfield County School for Girls, AIM Academy North London, St Anne's Catholic High School for Girls, St John's Preparatory and Senior School, Oasis Academy Enfield and The Lea Valley Academy.
That is the whole of what the table says about them. A c in a column is not a score of zero and not a low score, and the page draws no conclusion about any of the six. A family considering one of those sixth forms should ask the institution for its own A-level maths results directly.
Whichever sixth form a student attends, our expert A-level maths tutors in Enfield start from that student's own papers and work through pure, mechanics and statistics questions one-to-one online.
Book a Free Consultation Message us on WhatsAppIt cannot give a grade. DfE does not publish an average grade for an individual A-level subject, and the score in these tables is a value-added figure rather than a grade or a pass rate, so it must not be read as "an A" or "a B" for maths at any Enfield institution.
It cannot speak for one student. A score summarises a cohort of matched entries, from 6 to 169 across the 14 scored Enfield rows, and a student's own prior attainment, board, set and teacher are not in it. Two students at the same institution can sit far apart on the same paper. It is a progress measure for a group of students, not a judgement of how well any one teacher taught.
It cannot be compared with an all-subject figure. The measure here is Mathematics only. DfE's release headline average A level result of B- (36.09 points in 2024/25) is an England-wide measure across all subjects, not an Enfield maths figure, and the two must never be placed in one sentence as if they measured the same thing.
It cannot make a school's scores a forecast. The dataset covers one academic year, 2024/25, and the next release will cover a different cohort. Treat the table as one year's reading of one cohort, and look at the paper in front of the student.
Use it to frame questions, not to rank institutions. The first question is how many students entered A-level maths and further maths in the year a score refers to: DfE's matched entries are not that number, and an institution can state its own. The second is which exam board and which pure, mechanics and statistics options the department teaches, because those decide what a tutor needs to rehearse.
The third is where the student sits within the cohort. A score of 0.34 at Highlands School on 52 entries describes the cohort as a whole; it says nothing about whether a student predicted a B will reach an A. A one-to-one tutor works on that gap, using the student's own mock papers and the board's mark scheme, which no institution-level table can supply.
The fourth is cohort size. For the 7 Enfield rows with fewer than 20 entries, the interval matters more than the score itself.
Our expert A-level maths tutors help Enfield sixth-formers close the gap between a predicted grade and a target grade, one-to-one online, from the first diagnostic against their own board's papers.

We arranged maths and English tuition ahead of GCSEs and both tutors were brilliant. My daughter's grades improved, and by results day she achieved two grades higher than in her mock exams.
I attended an English bootcamp with Leading Tuition and the experience was excellent. The teacher gave focused attention to the small group while keeping the lessons interactive and engaging.
Sessions are one-to-one online with a shared whiteboard. A programme begins with a short diagnostic against the student's own exam board and latest mock, then works through that student's past papers and marks them against the real mark scheme. Session notes are shared with parents after each lesson, and progress is reviewed against the student's own target grade.
The A-level maths papers cover pure mathematics, mechanics and statistics, and our tutors confirm which board a student's sixth form has entered them for before the first session; the A-level maths tuition page covers the content and boards, and students taking the second qualification can read about A-level further maths tuition. Every tutor works online, so a student in Southgate, Edmonton or Enfield Town sits the same kind of session. Our Enfield tuition hub lists the other subjects we teach.
Leading Tuition reports that 91% of its students achieve their desired grades, a first-party figure that describes our own students and not any Enfield institution. DfE's scores above describe institutions; our programme starts from the individual student.
Every score, bound and entries count above is taken from DfE's published API for the dataset "Schools and colleges - qualification and subject value added", filtered to GCE A level, the A level cohort, Mathematics and 2024/25. Institutions are matched by their DfE URN, and the 20 Enfield rows are those whose local authority and establishment number begin 308. The release itself is on DfE's Explore education statistics service, published 23 April 2026.
Read the score with its 95% interval and its matched entries together. Enfield Grammar School is the worked case: a score of 1.35, an interval from 0.59 to 2.12 and 10 matched entries. Both bounds are above zero, so the score is distinguishable from zero. If the interval includes zero, as Edmonton County School's does at -0.5 to 0.41 on 28 entries, DfE's table does not separate the score from zero.
Five of the 14 scored Enfield rows clear zero in DfE's 2024/25 table. Enfield Grammar School (1.35 on 10 entries), Ark John Keats Academy (0.84 on 9) and Highlands School (0.34 on 52) are above zero. Heron Hall Academy (-0.68 on 17) and Bishop Stopford's School (-1.17 on 6) are below zero. The other nine intervals include zero.
DfE's 2024/25 table marks the score, the two interval bounds and the entries count c for Enfield County School for Girls, AIM Academy North London, St Anne's Catholic High School for Girls, St John's Preparatory and Senior School, Oasis Academy Enfield and The Lea Valley Academy. That is six of the 20 Enfield rows returned, and the table gives no score for them to read.
It makes one score carry less weight. Seven of the 14 scored Enfield rows have fewer than 20 entries, from Bishop Stopford's School on 6 up to Lift Aylward on 19. The interval is DfE's own measure of the uncertainty, and on 6 entries it runs from -2.15 to -0.18, nearly two points wide, while The Latymer School's 169 entries give -0.1 to 0.27.
No. DfE published the 2024/25 16 to 19 release on 23 April 2026 and states that it is based on revised data, after a checking exercise that followed the November provisional release. The dataset is version 1.0.1 of "Schools and colleges - qualification and subject value added", and the figures on this page are read from it.
Yes. Every Leading Tuition session is one-to-one online, with a shared whiteboard, so a sixth-former anywhere in the borough of Enfield, local authority 308, joins from home. Each programme starts with a diagnostic against the student's own exam board, then works through past papers marked against the real mark scheme, with session notes shared with parents after every lesson.
No. The score is DfE's value-added figure for Mathematics, and DfE publishes no average grade for an individual A-level subject. DfE's England-wide, all-subject average A level result of B-, 36.09 points in 2024/25, is a separate measure. A score of 0.34 at Highlands School on 52 entries is therefore not a grade.
