Registration is not the last form. The school’s timeline puts the Examination Entrance Form on Monday 9 November 2026, the Monday after the Friday 6 November 2026 registration deadline, and says its details come from the Head of Admissions once you apply. A co-curricular scholarship application is a further form, closing at 6pm on Wednesday 11 November 2026. The first Consortium sitting, Friday 27 November 2026, falls exactly three weeks after the registration deadline, and the interview window, Monday 4 to Thursday 7 January 2027, is four days long; both are our counts from the dates in the table.
Open events are optional. The school’s FAQ says: “It isn't compulsory, but we strongly recommend visiting Queen's before submitting an application.”
The London 11+ Consortium, which Queen’s belongs to, answers the overseas question in its own FAQ. To the question “My daughter is an overseas applicant. Where will she take the exam?” it replies: “Your daughter is welcome to travel to sit the test in one of our schools and please indicate to us if she can do this. If you would prefer your daughter to sit the exam overseas, please contact the Admissions team at one of your Consortium schools to find out how to proceed.” Queen’s admissions team is on admissions@qcl.org.uk or 0207 291 7070.
The same FAQ covers a girl whose own school cannot host the test: “If your daughter’s school does not offer this facility, the Consortium schools you apply to will ask you to indicate a 1st and 2nd choice Consortium exam centre when you apply. The 1st and 2nd choice must be a Consortium school to which you have applied.” The Consortium’s Code of Practice adds: “Candidates only sit the assessment once, irrespective of the number of Consortium Schools to which they are applying.”
One rule comes from Queen’s itself and bears on fees for a family abroad. On its scholarships and bursaries page the College writes: “Bursary awards are, however, available only to pupils who are ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom and whose families meet the School's financial eligibility criteria. International applicants and families who are not ordinarily resident in the UK are not eligible for bursary support. In addition, applicants seeking a boarding place in the Sixth Form are not eligible for bursary assistance, irrespective of nationality or country of residence.”
For how other London day schools treat an applicant abroad, our comparison of London independent schools from overseas sets their published arrangements side by side, the hub for 11+ families abroad covers the other routes, and our wider school guides start at the 11+ hub. Whichever way she sits the test, ask Queen’s admissions team to confirm the arrangement in writing before Friday 6 November 2026, and keep the reply with the registration papers.

Book a Free Consultation Message us on WhatsAppThe College decides on three things together. Its admissions page says: “Queen's College is a member of the London 11+ Consortium. Admission is based on a combination of the Consortium entrance examination, an interview and a reference from the applicant's current school.” The FAQ describes the weighing: “We are academically selective, but not narrowly so. We consider entrance assessment results alongside an interview and a reference from your daughter's current school to build a complete picture of her potential.”
Interviews are offered to everyone who applies: “All applicants are invited to interview between 4 and 7 January 2027, giving us the opportunity to get to know each candidate beyond the examination.” Inside the Consortium that varies by school. Its FAQ says: “Some Consortium schools select for interview, and some do not. You need to check the details on the individual schools’ websites.” Its page names two members that do select: “Please note Godolphin and Latymer, and South Hampstead High School will select for interview from the assessment.” See our guide to South Hampstead High School for one of them.
The reference is requested by each school separately. The Consortium says: “Each Consortium school to which a candidate applies will seek a reference separately from the Head of the candidate’s current school, prior to the entrance examination.” A girl who applies to more than one member school therefore has her current school asked for a reference by each.
The exam itself is shared. How the paper is sat, what it contains and how member schools decide offers are set out in our guide to the London 11+ Consortium schools. On preparation, the Consortium FAQ answer says: “Beyond that, the exam tests knowledge of the Year 5 Maths National Curriculum, and candidates will need to know how to read an extended passage of fiction and answer questions on it. These are all skills that your daughter will be developing in school anyway, so your daughter does not need special tuition or intensive practice for this assessment.” On the interview it writes: “We actively discourage preparation for the interview.”
The Code of Practice lists the member schools: “Channing School, Francis Holland (Regent’s Park), Francis Holland (Sloane Square), Godolphin and Latymer, More House, Northwood College for Girls, Notting Hill and Ealing High School, Queen’s College, Queen’s Gate School, South Hampstead High School, St Augustine’s Priory, St Helen’s School, St Margaret’s School.” Our guides include Channing School, Francis Holland, Godolphin and Latymer, South Hampstead High School and St Helen’s Northwood.
The College’s scholarships page lists the awards: “Academic, Art, Dance, Drama, Music, Sport and All Rounder scholarships are awarded at 11+.” For Academic awards the brochure says “all applicants to Queen’s at 11+ are automatically considered for Academic Scholarships”. For Art, Dance, Drama, Music and Sport each award has its own submission and date, set out below, and the page adds: “Results for 11+ scholarships will be released at the same time as the 11+ entry results.” The 11+ page gives the offer date as “Offers are sent on Friday 12 February 2027.”
Source: qcl.org.uk scholarships and bursaries page (assessment dates) and the 11+ 2027 co-curricular scholarships brochure (closing dates and submissions), retrieved 9 October 2026.
For the co-curricular awards the route in is the same: “Once you have registered your daughter for a place at Queen’s (deadline is 6 November 2026) you will receive the Entrance Examination Form.” The brochure then says: “Please indicate on this form that you wish to be considered for a Dance Scholarship and our Head of Admissions will then send you a link to the Dance Scholarship application form.”
The Sport assessment has a named venue: “Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment on the morning of Tuesday, 24 November 2026 at Paddington Recreation Grounds, which will include a practical assessment in several sports and a fitness test.”
On what an award is worth, the Art, Dance, Drama and Music entries each list “A modest fee remission” among what a scholar can expect.

My daughter had never found maths her strongest subject, but after finding Leading Tuition and starting one to one lessons, her confidence improved and she began coming away from lessons happy.
The scholarships and bursaries page says: “If College funds permit, a bursary can provide up to 100% remission of fees, depending on a family's financial circumstances.” It sets the timing: “Bursary applications for entry at 11+ should be submitted as early as possible in the year prior to entry.” The 11+ admissions page dates the deadline for bursary applications to Friday 6 November 2026, the same day registration closes.
Eligibility is set by this rule, which the page states in full: “Bursary awards are, however, available only to pupils who are ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom and whose families meet the School's financial eligibility criteria. International applicants and families who are not ordinarily resident in the UK are not eligible for bursary support. In addition, applicants seeking a boarding place in the Sixth Form are not eligible for bursary assistance, irrespective of nationality or country of residence.”
The page adds: “A bursary may be awarded in addition to a scholarship if financial support is necessary.” The College’s own fees page is where its fee schedule sits.
The entry-points page sets out the stages. For the Prep School: “Find out more about 3+ (Little Corgis Pre-School), 4+ (Reception) and 7+ (Year 3) entry points.” For the College: “Find out more about 11+ (Year 7) and 16+ (Sixth Form) entry points.”
Prep School, Year 6 (10+). The Prep School’s admissions page gives these main-round dates. Registration: “For the main application round, the deadline is Wednesday 18 November 2026.” Assessment: “Applicants complete an age-appropriate computer-based assessment at QCPS on Wednesday 25 November 2026 covering English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.” Offers: “For the main application round, offers will be sent on Friday 27 November 2026 with an acceptance deadline of Thursday 4 February 2027.” Its At a Glance list for this entry includes a “Guaranteed pathway to Queen's College, London”, and the FAQ adds: “Girls who join the Prep at Year 6 (10+) secure their pathway to Queen's College, London at 11+, following the school's admissions arrangements.” This route is entry into Year 6 at the Prep School (“Year 6 offers an exciting opportunity for girls to join the Preparatory School before progressing to Queen's College, London.”); confirm with the Prep School’s admissions, on admissions@qcps.org.uk or 0207 291 7070, which September the dates serve.
Sixth Form (16+, September 2027 entry). The College gave Friday 9 October 2026 as the online application deadline for Sixth Form entry in September 2027. Its page also gave Tuesday 13 October 2026 for interviews, Monday 2 November 2026 for offers and Tuesday 5 January 2027 for acceptance. The Sixth Form boarding page says the College “plans to introduce boarding for 12 Sixth Form pupils (Year 12), subject to successful recruitment”, and, as a Sixth Form boarding statement, “QCL holds Home Office visa sponsorship approval for up to 12 non-UK students, allowing recruitment worldwide.” Contact the admissions team about the current position and about your daughter’s own case.
Other year groups. The College page says: “Although our main entry points are at ages 11+ and 16+, places occasionally become available in other year groups.”

The Prep School’s Year 6 (10+) entry lists a “Guaranteed pathway to Queen's College, London”, and its FAQ says: “Girls who join the Prep at Year 6 (10+) secure their pathway to Queen's College, London at 11+, following the school's admissions arrangements.” It also says “Girls joining from Queen's College Preparatory School follow a separate admissions pathway.” The main-round registration deadline on that page is Wednesday 18 November 2026.
The College says: “Complete your online application by Friday 6 November 2026 to be considered for 11+ (Year 7) entry in September 2027.” The Consortium holds its assessment “for pupils in Year 6 at that time”.
