DfE's provisional summer 2026 separate GCSE Chemistry grades for nine Slough schools, with each school's entries beside its cohort.
Book a Free ConsultationLeading Tuition's GCSE Chemistry tutors in Slough are expert one-to-one online teachers who start from each pupil's own school, because DfE's provisional summer 2026 table counts 1,021 separate GCSE (9-1) Chemistry entries at the nine Slough schools with 30 or more entries, and those schools' entries run from 33 to 229 against cohorts of 149 to 229 pupils.
Slough means the unitary authority, DfE's local authority 871. DfE's table lists 18 Slough schools with entries in this qualification, 1,149 in all; this page tabulates the nine with 30 or more entries (1,021 of them), and the other nine hold 128 entries between them.
Our expert GCSE Chemistry tutors help pupils across Slough with one-to-one online lessons, building each programme around the pupil's own school, exam board and latest mock paper.
Book a Free Consultation Message us on WhatsAppEach row below is one school's GCSE (9-1) Chemistry entries in summer 2026 beside the number of pupils at the end of Key Stage 4 in the same school, both counts from DfE's school-level table. The last column divides one by the other. Entries per 100 pupils is our own ratio of two DfE counts: it describes the size of the Chemistry group against the year group and says nothing about any school's teaching or results.
| School | Chemistry entries | Pupils at end of KS4 | Entries per 100 pupils |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Westgate School | 229 | 229 | 100 |
| Langley Grammar School | 175 | 180 | 97 |
| St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School | 157 | 157 | 100 |
| Upton Court Grammar School | 156 | 166 | 94 |
| Herschel Grammar School | 130 | 149 | 87 |
| St Joseph's Catholic High School | 57 | 149 | 38 |
| Ditton Park Academy | 50 | 177 | 28 |
| Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College | 34 | 180 | 19 |
| Wexham School | 33 | 203 | 16 |
| Nine schools together | 1,021 | 1,590 | 64 |
The two counts are equal at The Westgate School (229 entries beside 229 pupils) and at St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School (157 beside 157), and close at Langley Grammar School (175 beside 180) and Upton Court Grammar School (156 beside 166). Herschel Grammar School has 130 entries beside 149 pupils. At the other four schools the Chemistry group is smaller against the year group: St Joseph's Catholic High School has 57 entries beside 149 pupils, Ditton Park Academy 50 beside 177, Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College 34 beside 180, and Wexham School 33 beside 203, which is 16 entries per 100 pupils.
These rows count the separate GCSE (9-1) Chemistry full course, DfE's qualification code AHDJG. Pupils who take Combined Science (Double Award) are entered for a different qualification and are not in these rows, so a school's Chemistry entries are a count of one qualification, not of the whole of its science entries. The group size is what a tutor reads from these rows: it says how many of a school's pupils sit this qualification, and the pupil's own mock paper says where that pupil stands within it.
Taken together, the nine schools' 1,021 entries sit beside 1,590 pupils, which is 64 entries per 100 pupils. That ratio is itself our own sum of DfE's counts. It moves with the two schools whose Chemistry groups equal their cohorts and with the four whose groups are 16 to 38 per 100.
The table gives each school's entries at grade 4 or above, at grade 7 or above and at grade 9, with the share of its own entries in brackets. Every count and share is our own sum of DfE's grade-by-grade rows for that school, summed from grade 1 to 9 plus the U and X rows, which reconcile to DfE's total for every school listed. The last column counts entries below grade 4 or ungraded: grades 1 to 3, U and X together.
| School | Entries | Grade 4 or above | Grade 7 or above | Grade 9 | Below grade 4 or ungraded |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Westgate School | 229 | 116 (50.7%) | 28 (12.2%) | 4 | 113 |
| Langley Grammar School | 175 | 175 (100.0%) | 151 (86.3%) | 68 | 0 |
| St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School | 157 | 157 (100.0%) | 109 (69.4%) | 33 | 0 |
| Upton Court Grammar School | 156 | 156 (100.0%) | 131 (84.0%) | 62 | 0 |
| Herschel Grammar School | 130 | 130 (100.0%) | 110 (84.6%) | 53 | 0 |
| St Joseph's Catholic High School | 57 | 56 (98.2%) | 21 (36.8%) | 3 | 1 |
| Ditton Park Academy | 50 | 42 (84.0%) | 18 (36.0%) | 6 | 8 |
| Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College | 34 | 34 (100.0%) | 21 (61.8%) | 3 | 0 |
| Wexham School | 33 | 31 (93.9%) | 14 (42.4%) | 6 | 2 |
| Nine schools together | 1,021 | 897 (87.9%) | 603 (59.1%) | 238 | 124 |
Grade 4 or above runs from 50.7% of entries at The Westgate School (116 of 229) to every entry at five schools: Langley Grammar School (175 entries), St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School (157), Upton Court Grammar School (156), Herschel Grammar School (130) and Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College (34). St Joseph's Catholic High School has 56 of 57 entries at grade 4 or above (98.2%), Wexham School has 31 of 33 (93.9%) and Ditton Park Academy has 42 of 50 (84.0%).
Across all nine schools, 897 of the 1,021 entries are at grade 4 or above (87.9%), 603 at grade 7 or above (59.1%) and 238 at grade 9 (23.3%). Of the 124 entries below grade 4 or ungraded, 113 are at The Westgate School, 8 at Ditton Park Academy, 2 at Wexham School and 1 at St Joseph's Catholic High School. The five schools in the list above have none. All of these counts are DfE's provisional summer 2026 figures.
Book a call and you get an expert GCSE Chemistry tutor who plans one-to-one online sessions for a Slough pupil from their own mock paper, whichever school they attend and whichever grade they are working towards.
Book a Free Consultation Message us on WhatsAppThe Westgate School has the largest Chemistry entry in the Slough table, 229 entries beside 229 pupils at the end of Key Stage 4. The table gives its full grade-by-grade spread from DfE's rows. The grade 4 boundary falls inside this entry: 116 entries are at grade 4 or above and 113 are below grade 4 or ungraded, made up of 104 at grades 1 to 3, 8 at U and 1 at X.
| Grade | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | U | X | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entries | 24 | 34 | 46 | 31 | 28 | 29 | 16 | 8 | 4 | 8 | 1 | 229 |
Grades 4 and 5 together hold 59 entries (31 and 28), grade 6 holds 29, and grades 7 to 9 together hold 28 (16, 8 and 4). Grades 1 to 3 hold 104: 24 at grade 1, 34 at grade 2 and 46 at grade 3. GIAS lists The Westgate School with an Admissions policy of Non-selective, type Academy converter, mixed gender.
For a Westgate pupil the useful reading is the shape rather than any one number. The 229 entries run across every grade, so a pupil's own mock paper, not the school's distribution, says where one-to-one sessions begin. A tutor working with a pupil whose mock sits at grade 3 spends the first sessions on the content and exam technique that move a paper across the grade 4 boundary; a tutor working with a pupil at grade 6 or 7 spends them on the calculation and extended-response marks that lift a paper towards grade 8 and 9.
Listed in the order of their entries, the five schools with every Chemistry entry at grade 4 or above are Langley Grammar School (175), St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School (157), Upton Court Grammar School (156), Herschel Grammar School (130) and Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College (34). At these schools a grade 4 or above share cannot separate one pupil from another, so the counts higher up the scale carry the information. The table gives each school's entries at each grade from 4 to 9, with GIAS's Admissions policy field beside the name.
| School | GIAS Admissions policy | Grade 4 | Grade 5 | Grade 6 | Grade 7 | Grade 8 | Grade 9 | Entries |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Langley Grammar School | Selective | 1 | 4 | 19 | 30 | 53 | 68 | 175 |
| St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School | Selective | 7 | 20 | 21 | 34 | 42 | 33 | 157 |
| Upton Court Grammar School | Selective | 0 | 2 | 23 | 25 | 44 | 62 | 156 |
| Herschel Grammar School | Selective | 0 | 2 | 18 | 12 | 45 | 53 | 130 |
| Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College | Non-selective | 2 | 3 | 8 | 3 | 15 | 3 | 34 |
Langley Grammar School has 151 of its 175 entries at grade 7 or above (86.3%) and 68 at grade 9. Herschel Grammar School has 110 of 130 at grade 7 or above (84.6%) and 53 at grade 9, and Upton Court Grammar School has 131 of 156 (84.0%) with 62 at grade 9. St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School has 109 of 157 at grade 7 or above (69.4%) and 33 at grade 9. Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College has 21 of 34 at grade 7 or above (61.8%) and 3 at grade 9.
Four of the five carry an Admissions policy of Selective in the GIAS bulk file read on 3 November 2026; Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College carries Non-selective, with 34 Chemistry entries beside 180 pupils at the end of Key Stage 4. That is the whole of what GIAS's field says, and it is why a single Slough range, from 50.7% to 100% at grade 4 or above, is a range across schools with different admissions policies and very different Chemistry group sizes, from 33 entries to 229. The grade 4 and 5 counts at the five are small beside their totals, from 2 entries at Upton Court Grammar School and 2 at Herschel Grammar School to 27 at St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School, so a one-to-one plan for a pupil at one of these schools is a plan for the grade 7 to 9 marks.
Our expert GCSE Chemistry tutors help Slough pupils working towards grades 7 to 9 with one-to-one online sessions on calculations, extended responses and past-paper technique, whichever school the pupil attends.

We arranged maths and English tuition ahead of GCSEs and both tutors were brilliant. My daughter's grades improved, and by results day she achieved two grades higher than in her mock exams.
I attended an English bootcamp with Leading Tuition and the experience was excellent. The teacher gave focused attention to the small group while keeping the lessons interactive and engaging.
St Joseph's Catholic High School (57 entries beside 149 pupils), Ditton Park Academy (50 beside 177) and Wexham School (33 beside 203) have the smallest Chemistry groups of the nine against their cohorts. GIAS lists all three with an Admissions policy of Non-selective. Each entry is one pupil's entry, so a count of 1 or 2 below grade 4 is a small number of pupils, and the grade-by-grade counts are the clearest reading.
| School | Entries | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | U |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| St Joseph's Catholic High School | 57 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 10 | 13 | 12 | 8 | 10 | 3 | 1 |
| Ditton Park Academy | 50 | 0 | 1 | 7 | 9 | 11 | 4 | 5 | 7 | 6 | 0 |
| Wexham School | 33 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 7 | 8 | 2 | 6 | 6 | 0 |
At St Joseph's Catholic High School 56 of 57 entries are at grade 4 or above (98.2%) and 21 at grade 7 or above; the one entry below grade 4 is at U. At Ditton Park Academy 42 of 50 are at grade 4 or above (84.0%) and 18 at grade 7 or above, with 1 at grade 2 and 7 at grade 3. At Wexham School 31 of 33 are at grade 4 or above (93.9%), 14 at grade 7 or above, and the 2 below grade 4 are both at grade 3.
For a pupil at one of these three schools, one-to-one online tuition does a different job from a large-group lesson. With 33 to 57 entries in the school's Chemistry group, a tutor can return to a single practical, calculation or equation question with the pupil until the mark scheme's wording is secure, and session notes record which questions were revisited.
A family books a free consultation. The first step is a short diagnostic against the pupil's own school, exam board and latest mock paper, so the tutor knows which of the school's Chemistry topics the pupil has covered and which marks the pupil is losing. Sessions then run one-to-one online with a shared whiteboard, working through the pupil's own past papers and marking against the real mark scheme, and session notes go to parents after each lesson.
All Leading Tuition sessions are online. Our expert tutors teach Slough pupils from wherever they are, and the school counts above are the reason the first call asks about the school: the size of the Chemistry group, the spread of grades and the pupil's mock paper decide whether a programme begins at the grade 4 boundary or at the grade 8 to 9 marks.
Leading Tuition reports that 91% of its students achieve their desired grades, a first-party figure across all subjects and not a Chemistry or Slough figure. The same expert approach runs across our GCSE Maths tutors in Slough and our GCSE Biology tutors in Slough, and the wider tuition in Slough page lists every subject we cover there. The national picture for the subject sits on our GCSE Chemistry tuition page.
Our expert GCSE Chemistry tutors help pupils across Slough from a first-call diagnostic through to the final past papers, one-to-one and online, at the pupil's own tier and exam board.
Book a Free Consultation Message us on WhatsAppEvery school count comes from DfE's Key Stage 4 'Subject school level exam data' dataset, version 2.0, published on 15 October 2026, for the 2025/26 academic year, filtered to the GCSE (9-1) Full Course qualification and the subject Chemistry. DfE's release page states that the data in the release is provisional and is based on the results data that awarding organisations supply to the department. Treat every count here as provisional.
DfE's release page also states that progress measures will not be published for the 2024/25 and 2025/26 academic years, because the Key Stage 4 pupils in those years had no Key Stage 2 assessments. The figures on this page are therefore grade counts and our own sums of them, not a measure of how much a school added to a pupil's grade. The page applies one cut, a minimum of 30 entries: schools with 30 or more entries are tabulated by grade, and the nine schools below that cut are counted in the 18-school total and not tabulated.
Cohort size is DfE's count of pupils at the end of Key Stage 4 in the same school. School type and Admissions policy come from the GIAS bulk file edubasealldata20261103, read on 3 November 2026, joined to DfE's table by URN. The grade counts, shares and entries per 100 pupils are our own sums of DfE's rows, and a blank grade cell in DfE's data is read as zero only because the grades 1 to 9, U and X add up to DfE's total for every school tabulated. The release is on DfE's Key stage 4 performance 2025/26 release page.
For a pupil going on to sixth form, our A-level Chemistry tutors in Slough page is the next step after GCSE, built the same way around each pupil's own school.
DfE's provisional table counts 1,021 GCSE (9-1) Chemistry entries at the nine Slough schools with 30 or more entries, beside 1,590 pupils at the end of Key Stage 4 in those schools. The table lists 18 Slough schools with 1,149 entries in all, so the other nine schools hold 128 entries between them.
No. DfE's Chemistry rows count the separate GCSE (9-1) Chemistry full course, qualification code AHDJG. Pupils who sit Combined Science are entered for a different qualification, so Wexham School, with 33 Chemistry entries beside 203 pupils, shows only its separate Chemistry entries.
DfE's provisional table gives The Westgate School 229 Chemistry entries beside 229 pupils at the end of Key Stage 4. Of the 229 entries, 116 (50.7%) were at grade 4 or above, 28 at grade 7 or above and 4 at grade 9; 113 were below grade 4 or ungraded.
Five of the nine schools tabulated: Langley Grammar School (175 entries), St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School (157), Upton Court Grammar School (156), Herschel Grammar School (130) and Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College (34). The other four have entries below grade 4 or ungraded: 1 at St Joseph's Catholic High School, 2 at Wexham School, 8 at Ditton Park Academy and 113 at The Westgate School.
No. DfE labels the release provisional. The Chemistry table is dataset version 2.0, published on 15 October 2026, and this page read it on 3 November 2026. Every school count here is a provisional count.
No. DfE's release page states that progress measures are not published for 2024/25 or 2025/26 because the pupils had no Key Stage 2 assessments. The counts here are grade counts, not a measure of how much a school added to a pupil's grade.
Yes. The table lists 18 Slough schools with Chemistry entries and this page tabulates nine of them, but Leading Tuition's expert GCSE Chemistry tutors teach pupils at any Slough school, online and one-to-one. A tutor starts from the pupil's own exam board and latest mock paper, so a school's place in the table changes nothing about the programme.
There are 3 steps. A family books a free consultation through the button on this page or by WhatsApp; the second step is a short diagnostic against the pupil's own school and exam board; and sessions then run one-to-one online with a shared whiteboard, working through the pupil's own past papers and marking against the real mark scheme, with session notes shared with parents after each lesson.
